I just got the email for Wusikstation v3, they're starting an interesting group buy: http://www.wusik.com/w/wsgb.html
$99.95 to $1.95, if they get 150,000 new users by Dec 10. Wow they set their sights high.
I think you started something good with your group buy! |

At least the Jamstix group buy had some class.
In this case basically the company rips of money selling nothing. And if by some sort of miracle they manage to get those 150000 buyers, their product is going to be outdated soon (version 4 is coming soon) So you need to pay again for upgrade....and YES i know they promised to lower the upgrade price if such miracle happens. There aren't any different price levels like Jamstix had.
I gotta admit that they get a nice publicity out of this, and maybe that was their plan in a first place. |

Not entirely. The company owner stated at KVR that the $1.95 can be applied to anything in the event that 150,000 isn't reached.
So it can be applied to one of their magazine subscription or whatever, if that's any consolation. |

It's not a 'rip off' as some may say. William is a good standing and dedicated developer. He has tons of loyal users. His marketing methods can be a bit bold at times, but he ALWAYS looks out for his customers.
Saying that it's a rip off isn't fair at all IMO. Unrealistic, maybe. Rip-off, no.
Just my 2 pennies.

| Looks like he tweaked the deal, it makes way more sense now... much more like the JS group buy. You always get something, though you might have to (probably) throw in more money in December. |

Nobody started anything new - the 'group buy' concept has been around for years. I have several pieces of software (most long outdated now) which were purchased through similar schemes. _________________ Graeme

They did it again... now it's starting at $29.95 and only going up to 1000 users. Though they did boost the version to 4...
They sure change the terms a lot. |
