Hi-
I have a decent basic drum track that I'd like Jamstix to jam with/embellish. Is that feasible? I'm not getting good results using the piano or bass tracks.
I also didn't get anywhere using Import MIDI in the Rhythm tab. I understand it doesn't actually load the MIDI file, but I didn't really hear anything from the original MIDI track that indicated JS was paying any attention to it whatsoever!
So my general question is since I have a decent start with my drum tracks in this particular song, should I just work with that and forget about using JS on it? I started it before I bought JS.
Thanks-

Well I´m in the same situation with a few leftover songs of mine.
It´s actually easy IMO. I suspect the decent drum track you already have was programmed by yourself. In this case (because I assume you know what you´ve done ) I´d just try and program a few of those patterns in Jamstix , build up the arrangement again and let JS do all the embellishments.
It´s true that this process is a real transition: Time before Jamstix, time after Jamstix. |

Hi Doc-
I might just wait until JS2 is released at this point, since I'm such a noob with v.1 anyway!
BTW, what should "Import" do in the Rhythm tab, and is this feature improved in v.2? It really didn't seem to do much of anything.
Thanks-

OK, JS 2 is not far away!
IMPORT imports a midi file of your choice in JS. Works best with 1-bar drum patterns, as JS 1 is restricted concerning the import of longer midi files.
JS 2 will be much more powerful in this respect. |
