Hi,

I've got jamstix working in reaper, with some good results on audio free-jam, but I have a couple of questions :-

1) Routing - In Reaper I have 8 tracks routed to the outputs from Jamstix. The first track (Kick) seems to have my audio input routed through it as well as the Kick - it can be seen on the level meter. I can't find any settings in reaper, or Jamstix that would cause this to happen.

2) Freezing / Manual mode. When I have finished my freejam, I want to freeze this and edit it manually. As far as I was aware, all I need to do is change from freejam to manual. Do I still need to keep my audio track routed to Jamstix - If i change to manual mode and then remove audio routing to Jamstix, the rhythm seems to change to a quiet basic rhythm - like when you are doing a freejam with no audio playing. I use a 'rough' audio track to get my Jamstix rhythm - I then want to freeze the rhythm and be able to delete, or mute the rough track in reaper.

Thanks for your help.

Try using audioM8 instead of sending the audio input directly into Jamstix. Simply put audioM8 on the track with the audio data.

Yes, you'll have to keep the audio track to keep the velocity performance. Alternatively, you could freeze Jamstix in REAPER. Jamstix 2 will come with its own internal freeze option to make this easier.

I think you need to set the recording mode for that track. Right-click on the VU meter and select MIDI Output. I actually set up 9 tracks, one for MIDI, 8 for audio. This way you can route audio in to Jamstix but record MIDI out and still record the audio generated to separate tracks.

Better yet, use this track template: http://www.cockos.com/forum/showpost.php?p=66963&postcount=2 I think you may still need to change the recording mode anyway.

On the Arrangement tab, do you have "Use Arrangement" selected?
