|
|
Alright, hopefully I can just be redirected to an old thread.
I just bought Cubase SX, and seeing the groupbuy figured, "What the hell $70 for software that seems to have rave reviews all over the internets."
So I bought it, installed it, and now have no idea how to make it run in Cubase due to my lack of knowledge of the program (Been using Cool Edit Pro for 4 years).
I've got it started up, And I successfully linked M8 to an audio track, and Jamstix seems to be receiving input and arranging drums, but I've got no sound.
I figure I'm just missing some basic Cubase knowledge of how to route Jamstix to an output... or something... (I don't think that little blushing emoticon does the shame I feel justice.)
Edit: Visual representation. http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/4374/nodrumsmakesmeasadpandaxt6.png

There's two possibilities:
#1 Missing sounds installation
#2 Velocity is at zero
Let's start with #2. Your screenshot shows the audioM8 needle at 0 and, thus, the velocity slider in Jamstix is at zero which will give you almost no (and very quiet) drums. Please hit the little lock icon above the velocity slider and then move the velocity slider to almost max (right). It is now decoupled from audioM8. You should now hear drums. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Naw, the velocity is working and adjusting fine on it's own, and the M8 needle was at zero as I wasn't playing anything at that point.

When playing it looks like this and shifts the needle typically in the green or yellow zone.
I'm relatively sure I have the sound installed... Unload the packs into Add ons and install them on your first opening correct? Unless there's another step to that.
Edit: Also, Jamstix has the best customer service I've ever seen. I mean... wow. |

Please send me the file rzdlog.txt from your Jamstix folder so I can research the sound issue further. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

This is what the exported midi comes out as:

Dunno if maybe that gives some clues to the problem. |

The rzdlog.txt will help me the most at this time. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

The log shows that you have the sounds but only the kick gets loaded. I have seen that before a LONG time ago with a user and am trying to dig out what the solution was.
For now, please try this: after Jamstix is up, go to the mapping tab, click 'Load' and load 'default'. See if you now have sound. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I think this was the fix for the user I mentioned:
Add this line to the jamstix.ini file anywhere in the [General] section:
LateWSLoad=1
Hope this helps! If not, send me the log again. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Please do this:
Add these lines to the [General] section of the jamstix.ini:
Logging=1
FlushLog=1
FullLog=1
and set the LateWSLoad entry you created earlier to 0 (or remove it)
- load Jamstix again in Cubase
- send me the rzdlog.txt file
Thanks! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I have a problem with then logs. It appears that you are overwriting the logs on your site everytime I ask you for a new one, which makes it impossible for me to go back and look at what happened before. Please e-mail me the logs instead of posting on your site so I have an easy track record here.
Please also send me your jamstix.ini file.
Thank you for your patience with this! It is an unusual issue but we'll figure it out... _________________ Ralph Zeuner
