|
|
| can't find any instructions as to make the audio-in velocity map work or even what it does...seems like i have to mouse over it, with the left button held down, to make the map go to "max" position, so i get either no output velocity or full time audio velocity...help! is there a new manual online? |

| ok..I've played around with the audio-velocity map for a couple hours, and I am driving audio velocity with a pretty strong bass guitar track. It seems to either have to be full on, or I get no response from the program...I have tried setting the curve as suggested in the "quick start" maunal, but, to be honest, the audio velocity seemed to work better with the older version of the program that didn't have the map! Any suggestions? |

The linear audio-in vel map that comes up by default is the exact same as Jamstix without the map before. I suggest to check the audio trim knob because it sounds as if your input volume is too low. With the default audio-in map on, turn the knob right until you loudest playing initiates power play.
Let me know how it works. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I initially used the mouse to create the rough curve I wanted, then I hand-edited the jamstix.ini file. I wanted a velocity plateau of 58 in the middle, but I also wanted a bit of a plateau at the high end (and smooth transitions elsewhere).
I also use AudioInSmoothing=431, which is a low value. It seems to feel right for the tempos I'm playing.
I've included the values below. You can just select the text below and paste it into your jamstix.ini file (before running Jamstix).

| ummm...I'm just a stupid bass player! I know how to use SONAR to get what i want, but I have no idea what the keyboard player/computer guy is talking about! I don't really use MIDI very much...do mostly live recording (including drums). I tried "defaulting" the audio-in velocity map, fed jamstix a nice, strong bass track, and, unless i have the min velocity slider all the way up, and the trim knob all the way up, i get not response from the velocity slider, even then, it doesn't move with the audio being fed...just stays in one spot! it seemed to me that jamstix was reacting much better to the audio-in track before i upgraded to the newest version with the audio-velocity map...maybe you can step me through it? what am i doing wrong? tried the quick-start man, btw... |

Could you take a screenshot of your entire screen with audioM8 up and Jamstix up with mapping tab visible while it is running in Sonar with a strong bass track but no velocity response and send it to support@rayzoon.com? _________________ Ralph Zeuner
