After setting up a rhytm in manual Jam and Arranger mode. Is it possible to edit specific bars to include or exclude some of the rhytm elements? I.e. to click on a bar in the arranger and then add some toms and then that these tom hits would then only show up in that particular bar. I thought I had managed to do this earlier and I was very happy about it. But as it is now I cant do it anymore, perhaps I was dreaming the whole time? Wink
It would be great though if it was possible. The alternative, I guess, if you would want the same rhytm going on, but want specific strokes included, would be to make the changes you want and save the rhytm under a new name, and then load all of such rhytms in the arranger mode and letting JamStix jump back and forth. But that would be much more work.

Is the control window (funkiness, complexity, accentuations etc.)applicable at all in the manual Jam mode? I cant see/hear that it changes anything.

When making rhytms from scratch or edititin other rhytms for that matter, JamStix regularly puts in some unwanted accentuations, even it its Manual Mode. Or can I turn them off? JamStix plays these even when every rhytm, stroke is turned off in the rhytm section, with or without "use arranger on/off" so i dont know what else to "turn off".

Accentuations, and fill-in´s in Free mode/Jam Session is understandable but I think it should be possible to turn that off when working in Manual mode/arranger.

Pusur, you can turn the accents off by dragging the respective snare and tom accent sliders all the way to the left.

Ralph, I would point to this as further evidence that a one-click solution to the problem of "why is Jamstix playing so much?" would be useful. Wink

sometimes it's a mapping issue too..where you will have a tom playing instead of a cymbal..stuff like that..but ralph finds and fixes those things.

just something to know if you moved all the sliders left and still hear stray toms. i am working around it in tracktion by muting the BFD toms so they just don't play.

You can adjust the mapping by changing the 'key' assigned to the sounds in the mapping tab. Your description leads me to believe that you have a another sound (cymbal?) mapped to a key that BFD uses for toms.

That's just not possible in Jamstix today. We are considering a different approach for Jamstix 2 that allows this but you do lose some simplicity of use. Anyway, we're working on it but it won't be in Jamstix 1.

That is the method of choice right now but you can also add notes to the Jamstix MIDI track manually

Funkiness and Complexity do apply to manual mode. They are used to filter the available fills/endings and intros and also affect accent choices.

Turning down snare and tom accents should mute these. There are also Jam Habits that, if you have MIDI being fed into Jamstix, can lead to extra sounds. They can be toggle off.
