Will Jamstix work on a brand new Vista 64bits computer? With Cakewalk Sonar 4 PE? Or will this get me into trouble and should I go for 32bits? (And what about other plugins btw?)

Jamstix itself is a 32-bit plugin. The whole 64-bit 'thing' is just in the process of taking off so there are no guarantees on anything and as a small developer we are in a wait-and-see mode on this development.

You need a 64-bit machine, 64-bit OS, 64-bit host and 64-bit plugins to go fully 64-bit. Sonar 4PE is not 64-bit, you will need the Sonar x64 version. You can then use Jamstix via the BitBridge adapter.

Just a note for you x64 folks, I just got an x64 capable computer (Sonica Audio labs...very sweet) and had it set up with a 32bit operating system...then I decided to install Win XP Pro x64 in a dual boot configuration. I copied all the JS folders, license key etc. but when scanning VST's, Sonar 6 got to jamstix and just froze...wouldn't register it. More than likely I had the license key in the wrong folder but didn't even realize it...so I installed Savihost and launched jamstix from that, and was presented with the activation screen...entered all the pertinent info and then re-ran Sonar VST Scan...worked like a charm. Seems the BitBridge thing does not like plugins that request info in order to register the plugin in Sonar. Don't know if this is helpful, but thought I would mention it. I actually had to do that with several plugins that require activation prior to being scanned by Sonar.
