Please use this thread to post solutions or work-arounds for any problems you may have encountered in Forte.

Just tested Jamstix 1.1 briefly in Forte 1.5 and it appeared to work fine.

I've been assessing the demo - got it to work in Sonar, but my main interest is to use it with Forte (for jamming - don't want to record with it).
I couldn't get any response in Forte (1.5) - I didn't think it had an internal midi clock ... and I didn't think Jamstix did either!

Obviously I'm doing something wrong - please help.

Thanks.

What exactly are your steps? What I did is this:

- 'Add Instrument' -> Jamstix
- expanded window and clicked down arrow on Jamstix entry to see Jamstix GUI
- clicked Free Jam
- clicked Play in forte

Actually seems to be two different issues, impOSCar and Jamstix.

impOSCar overloads forte when there are starts and stops to the audio stream.

Jamstix only overloads when the play button is active for some time.

I'm going to load forte up on my desktop to see if I can repeat the results.

NI-B4MKII and AAS-LoungeLizard3 work fine in forte, play button or no play button.

Sorry if I got you folks off track, On my AMD3000+, no problem. I might've had impOSCar loaded or perhaps my laptop is too 2nd gen for these 3rd gen intruments, that might've thrown me off track too.

I'm definitely using the X-Station ASIO, Jmastix 1.6 and AAS LngLiz3 for 860+ bars now, non problemo, again, profuse apologies if I any way implied there was a defect with your product.

Please try Beta 1820 as it has an important fix for something that should affect all hosts but apparently only led to discernable issues in Podium for some users (latency-dependent) where it would cause 100% CPU usage after running for a while.

This forte issue for some users may be related. Let me know what you find.

Sorry it took me so long to get back to you folks, good thing you don't take as long to get around to these things as I do.

Just wanted to let you know I upgraded from 1.6 to beta 1833, opened the same test rack that expressed the original problem, and everything works great. Here I am humming along at bar 285-76bpm in forte 1.5 and I'm at 24-30%cpu!

Well done.

Now I just wish the gMedia guys would get impOSCar working and I'd be set.

Regards,

Well it turned out to be an issue with forte, not impOSCar, I guess I have as much crow to eat as brainspawn:

http://www.brainspawn.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1735&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=imposcar&start=30

Just to clarify, the impOSCar/forte CPU loading is totally unrelated to the Jamstix/forte issue, and gMedia software is QA fault free.

i can't seem to get Jamstix working with brainspawn forte. It loads. It makes sound, but the jamstix gui will not come up. This is with latest version of Jamstix and forte. Jamstix is working fine in Sonar.

Anyone else using latest Jamstix with latest Forte? Any idea why the GUI won't come up?

Mine's OK, my forte and jamstix are up to date, but I run it on XP with SP2 only, no other updates. Did you try loading Jamstix in an empty rack? Just to make sure it's not the rack.

Too bad, Jamstix in forte is pretty cool using forte's tap tempo feature. I have a foot pedal I can tap in the tempo and press play on my keyboard, works pretty damn slick.

My thinkpad T23 P3/1.2GHx didn't have enough grunt to run Jamstix in forte at low latencies, but it did run, the gui would open etc, so I can say that I've had forte and Jamstix working on a couple of different laptops.

I have more information. When Jamstix loads, it makes sound, but can't see the GUI. If I hit the Forte button to display the GUI, the button darkens as if the GUI should be shown, but no drop down area appears with the GUI. HOwever, if i then do something else that might change Forte's gui such as hitting the button to hide/display the output busses or hide/display another instrument plugin, then the Jamstix GUI appears.

It appears to me that either Jamstix or Forte is not notifying the other that a GUI refresh is needed.

I know what it is now!

Jamstix doesn't resize the forte rack when you open the gui like most plug ins do.

You have to manually resize the forte window, pull down on the bottom of the forte window, you'll see jamstix now.
