No, work harder. BTW I hate annoying people who can't wait for things like new versions of music software etc. And Tracktion 2 is also delayed

I don't think either Jamstix2 or Tracktion are delayed. Neither had a promised release date, only HOPEFUL date ranges. So I'd hardly say they are delayed. Just taking longer to get things worked out. But I'm sure that the wait will be worth it!

Thanks for the support, Brent.
If JS2 was just an evolution of the current JS 1.8 then it would have already been done. Alas, it is completely new and different and you just can't reliably estimate the development of completely new algorithms and making all the parts work together as envisioned.
Rest assured though: when we do give a real release date (not an estimated one), we will keep it. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Sorry, it was just a (probably bad) joke. And of course Tracktion 2 is not delayed |

Yes, just imagine if the limb theory algorithm was a little off. The drummer might mistake his leg for his arm, kick the snare, put a stick through the bass drum, bash himself on the head, knock over the high hat, fall off the throne and be unable to get up again! Wouldn't want that in the middle of a slow ballad!
Seriously, Jamstix 2 sounds like it will be well worth the wait.

| I think we all have a little bit of JS2 anxiety. But for me it's nothing compared to the Jambassist (No messages since Dec. 9th!) yearning that I'm experiencing. But I'm very patient and I know they will both be worth the wait. Tim |

It will be well worth the wait. Given that Ralph seems to place a premium on actually performing proper Alpha AND Beta tests on his applications along with setting his own bar higher than consumer expectations, I am excited about JS2 but will happily wait for it.
Developers seem to have largely forgotten the customer when it comes to releases nowadays, they release buggy "New" versions and tend to allow their entire user base to pay for the privilege of being Beta testers. How many big packages have been released with MAJOR issues that took months to be resolved recently? Lots. Having seen this happen with two MAJOR industry players this year, I applaud Ralph for being meticulous.
I still discover amazingly cool things with JS1 every time I work with it. Take your time, Ralph. We all know you'll knock it out of the park |

I can't wait for JamBassist either. But I bet it won't be too long of a wait after JS2 comes out, since much of the code is shared, and that's what Ralph is waiting on. After JS2 comes out and gets some of the kinks worked out, JB is much more likely to get more attention, I would guess.
But yeah, I think when you have a product this cool, it's impossible NOT to have anxiety about it. I know I do!

No problem, 1.81 is working great and my money is ready to go for 2.0 whenever you're ready! |

| Will there be drag&drop of midi clips from the host to jamstix or will you have to import midi files? |

Jamstix 2 has drag&drop to the host (bar, part and song) but not the other way around. There is a MID file import function just like in Jamstix 1.
One difference is that if you import a multi-bar MID file then it will automatically constitute a 'part' in Jamstix 2 and you do not need to click around in an arranger to get the same bar sequence. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
