...when running Jamstix with live audio?

Sekim? Zauni?

My live-audio triggering trials with Samplitude are still eratic (although still pretty awesome). If I play straight-forward live guitar into Jamstix it starts sounding like the drummer is on drugs. No adjustments make any difference, and the included audio interface doesn't seem to make any difference either.

I must be missing something somewhere.

Thanks again,

Greg

This may seem obvious but you are playing in synch with the Samplitude tempo, right?

yes.

THe header of the original post never showed up.

I'm referring to the plugin included with Jamstix that works as a bridge to the host while jamming along in live input mode. (I'm not at my main machine right now and went braindead on the name of the plugin device)

I"m mainly wondering if Samplitude with Jamstix tracks better with our without the plugin.

Won't get a chance to check this out until later.

Sorry if this is a stupid inquiry, but I'm just not sure if some of the anomolies are caused by Samplitude or me <hehe>.

Sekim, could you send me the Samplitude GIFs you posted in this thread so I can make then available via our site (the Geocities links seem to be down)? Maybe this will help sirius.

I haven't tried it yet in Samplitude 9, but will try it soon.

I will keep you posted.

latest updates of all 3 programs is NOT working. I got as far as seeing activity in the mixer, but now sound.

I've checked monitoring settings, aux/send/VST routing, etc. with no luck (yet). I've also posted on the other forums.

Other people are having problems as well. Apparently there is a known issue with dfhS 1.6, but I will also try to grab the latest Jamstix and see if I can get it to work.

Hi, I´m posting the same question I did in Samplitude forums, maybe someone here has an insight and Ralph knows the answer as well.

I´m having a problem with importing Jamstix arrangements from Cubase to Samplitude. I open my project in Cubase, open Jamstix and use ´save instrument´, then open Jamstix in Samplitude and use ´patch load´. Ok, all the arrangement, decisions, mappings and options are there. But I have to recreate the automation curves, since I can´t see a way of exporting them from Cubase. No big deal so far.

The point is the curves I draw in the Jamstix track don´t work at all. If I load jamstix and start from scratch, the automation curves work ok, but not with imported patches. Looks like importing a patch locks Jamstix in order to receive automation commands. Please note that if I change velocitty slider in JS interface, it creates an autmation curve, but it doesn´t read it later.

Also, there´s an erratic behavior. Once I tried clearing everything in Jamstix arrangement and automation worked again, but other time it didn´t.

Any help? Recreating all the arrangement is not an option for every project I have.

Thanks.

Adriano

I'm not a Samplitude user so I can't help on that aspect but I can help on the Jamstix side. Can you give an example of a specific automation command that does not work?

In the specific project I was importing, both velocity and powerplay parameters, but no other work as well.

Thanks.

It must be on the Samp side because there is nothing in JS that prevents automation data on PowerPlay from being used. Whenever it is received from the host, it is immediately used.

Very odd...

Try this: instead of saving/loading a FXB, go into Cubase and save the arrangement (arranger disc icon) and the mapping. Now go to Samp and load a new JS and then load the arrangement and the mapping. See if the automation still works that way.

Well, creating a new track, sending to JS and then importing arrangement and mapping worked, but I had a problem before in which I can´t identify a pattern.

It´s working for now, anyway, at least in one project.

Thanks, Ralph.

Hi, I'm trying to set up a group of tracks to accept the mapping I have set up in Jamstix. I have the outputs set to 8, and I added JS to 1 track. It automatically creates the output tracks but nothing ever seems to get to them. I can't click record on more than one output track either.

I'd like to record audio to different tracks, if that's possible. I have it working in Reaper, after some playing but I can't figure out the logic here. I know I should get more Samplitude information but it didn't come with a manual, and the support is a bit bleak.

Does someone have experience with this? Can you point me in the right direction?

EDIT: The below does NOT apply to Jamstix 2.0.9 or above:
A note for Jamstix 2/Samp 9 users: make sure that in the Samp9 "Options", "Keep dialogs always up" (or similar) is NOT checked. Otherwise the Wizard will open during JS2 load but not be accessible so you cannot proceed.
