It would be great if one could render each instrument to it's own midi file.
I tried to do this with Racks in Tracktion2 but it did'nt work. Can this be done in some way already?

Look in your jamstix.ini file for the section 'MIDI Out Channels' and make sure it looks like this:

[MIDI Out Channels]
Kick=1
Snare=2
HiHat=3
Ride=4
Cymbals=5
Toms=6
Percussion=7

If it doesn't exist, copy/paste it to the end of the file.

This section assigns separate MIDI channels to each sound group. You can then run a simple 'by channel' filter on the MIDI file to separate out specific drum groups.

Great. I will try that immidiately. I am not sure what a "by channel" filter is though.

Also there is a MIDIOutChannel=1 entry under General. Should that be unthouched?

Leave MIDIOutChannel=1 alone, it is just the default MIDI channel.

With a 'by channel' filter I am referring to a tool in your host to split MIDI data by MIDI channel. Any self-respecting host has it. I use Sonar so I am familiar with it there but I'm not too familiar with Tracktion. I'm sure Tracktion users at their forum or KvR can help you on that.
