Having installed the latest update we are now having problems with overlapping windows, sound changes, jamstix not starting and then starting and so on. Is it possible that we have done something wrong? I have a feeling that the more recent updates we loaded but possibly did not install properly. Could this have an adverse effect on the latest update? Would the best thing be to uninstall and then reinstall and then add the updates one by one through to the last one? Or only add the last one? Is there a procedure for uninstalling?

Thanks Very Happy

Thanks, Tony. Please send me your rzdlog.txt file from your Jamstix folder so I can advise you better on what might be the issue here.

OK. It was the new version 1.81 which we had installed so the problem is not there.

A specific question:

Has the instrument arangement been changed in the latest update? i.e. in the intro "2 snared 2 tomed". It seems that the sounds are different from how they were in the preceeding version.

Also the 'time count' at the beginning seems to have disappeared.

Is there an easy explanation for this?

The intro is the same but if you have DrumPak #1 then the default sound set has changed in 1.81 from the old Stage Custom kit to a mixed kit that mainly uses DP1. This does not affect existing saved projects, only new projects. If you wish to have the old default kit back, delete the file 'default.rdm' in the 'mappings' folder and rename the file 'default_stock'.rdm' to 'default.rdm'.

Do you mean the drum sticks counting in on the intro?

Check your jamstix.ini file for a line that starts with

AllowIntroCountIn=

and make sure it is set to 1, not 0. It is okay if the line doesn't exist at all because the default is 1.

Can't find 'default_stock.rdm' but we do have a 'default_DP1.rdm'
We also have a 'intdefault.rdm'

Can't find a jamstix.ini file..........

Jamstix.ini file is in the Jamstix folder. If you have Windows Explorer in hide mode then you won't see the ini extension and it will call it configuration settings as a type.
