Hi,
I placed a post where I mentioned it, but want to ask directly.
Does or will JS or JS2 have percussion patterns (IE Congas, Bongo, Tri-angle etc) with "stock" sound sets? The left right hand stuff on congas would be great!
I do R&B and that type of percussion is very common.
Thanks,
Shkgrad~ |

At the moment there´s some basic (but in my opinion very useful) percussion module within Jamstix 1.
I don´t know for sure what enhancement JS 2 will present but Ralph stated that a special percussion module (Jamcussion) is planned later. |

Doc is right, there will be a percussion module (add-on) after Jamstix 2 is released. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Thanks to both of you.
I hadn't seen your responses until after I had written back to Doc.
I'm SO looking forward to using Jamstix and Jamcussion.
Can I "pre-order"?
Thanks again,

Uh-oh. Guess I'm gonna have to make good on buying the Congas after all. Ralph, please make the "jamcussion" stuff as annoyingly pseudo-afro-jazz sounding as possible so I can utilize it/them in humorous breaks to make my friends laugh. I can see it now - The sound of raging classic British amps, bass cranking through the SVT, rock kit du jour and then BLAMMO!!! Bongos and Congas doing incredibly stupid out of context unaccompanied over the top fills. White guy with permed hair and Dashiki mandatory, except I'm too bald to pull that off anymore unfortunately. Please listen to late period fusion to bone up on the bad over-playing drummer algorithm also (as in bands formed after 1978 in that genre). That's a must as I'm working up some instrumentals and currently I can't make your "drummer" sound bad in Free Jam. Come to think of it, can we have a sample set of a guy playing a Vistalite with his hands to nail a Bonzo solo also? Remember, I've unwittingly committed myself to buying all the paks. |

| for the perc module it would be nice to have a good variety of hand percussion: congas, bongos, timbales, djembe, darbouka, udu, different tambourines and frame drums etc. |

All kidding aside, some interesting percussion would be a welcome addition to the JS sample set. You never know when you'll need a "different" sound in one of your songs, various and sundry "non-traditional" percusion instruments are as valid a way to widen the sonic palette as are different fuzzboxes for guitar players |
