With the release of Jamstix we would like to start a competition for the best demo song! The winner will get a free copy of JamBace when it is released and will be invited to participate in the closed beta as well.

Here are the rules:

• You must create a demo song with a maximum length of 4 minutes. Keep in mind that we will most likely only use 1 minute or less.
  
  
• The song must be completely your creation and may not violate the rights of a third party.
  
  
• You are free to use any music style you want and any instruments you like (except drums, see next item)
  
  
• The demo must use Jamstix for all its percussion sounds. You are free to use the internal sounds or any other drum module of your liking but all drum events must be generated by Jamstix.
  
  
• You may not manually edit the MIDI-out of Jamstix. That way listeners will get an impression of what Jamstix generates by itself.
  
  
• When you send us your demo song you are giving us the right to use it for demonstration purposes as we see fit but we will always properly indicate your authorship.
  
  
• We prefer songs without vocals or at least without lead vocals.
  
  
• The submission must be in MP3 format 16-bit 44.1kHz 192kbps or less
  

You may submit as many demos as you like. Each submission must be accompanied by:

- Your name or alias as you want it to be displayed on our site
- The name of your demo
- Description of main VSTi or sound modules used to create your song
- Drum module triggered by Jamstix (or internal)
- Description of any unusual techniques used

Send your submissions to r.zeuner@rayzoon.com. The deadline date is 05/13/2005 Midnight EST and the winner will be announced on 05/15/2005.

If the demo submitters have a way to make their work available I would love to hear it.

Being married, hosting Easter dinner, etc seriously cuts into my time to actually get to use anything!

Hey, Mr. JamStix feels like being Dave Weckl!

This time I used JamStix driving HALion with a drumkit made by a cool guy called "Giro", this is a lo-fi version of his upcoming drum library for HALion and other formats.

Other special guests:

- Brasses: Zvon horn demo - WusikStation format
- Bass: Wizoo xxl from halion content disc #1
- String: synth1
- Guitar: me with my guitar fed into the Behringer V-Amp pro

Hehe Ralph, now I've learnt how to use JamStix and now noone is gonna stop me from using it!

Believe me, I wasn't making music with the computer from ages.. and I must tell you that JamStix made me find the joy to restart sequencing music since it just made my life easier, now that I don't have to bother with drum tracks programming any more

I'm speaking so good about JamStix over all the forums I know that people start thinking that I actually work for you!! LOL! I'm just so excited by this program!

I hope JamBace will be just as cool as JamStix.

How did you get the snare accents at 1:16.
Were they programed as a custom rhythm, a fill that just happened to fit or is it Jamstix responding to midi staccato hits?

First off, you produce top-notch stuff!!!!

I just love music like that. I've got it looped here for a while now and it has put me in a really good mood despite the sleep loss I've had recently.

Since you brought Dave up: Yes, he's one of my all-time favorite drummers. If you ever get a chance to watch his section on the drummer's collective DVD, it is just mind-blowing...

I also enjoy Steve Smith, not so much for his style but his flawless technique and sense of odd time signature and polyrhythms.

In term of style, I really like Carter Beauford.

I may get booed but as far as the 70s are concerned, I think Phil Collins is way underrated for this amazing drum work in those days.

And another underrated guy is Mike Brzecziski (I am sure I spelled it wrong) from Big Country in the 80s.
