|
|
I can preview Fills, Intros, and Endings, but I can't preview Accents. I press the "Notes" such that it is highlighted and I here the rhythm programmed in the Rhythm tab, but I do not here the Accent. I change the selected accent with the "Notes" still highlighted and still, no accent is played. There are no intros or fills with accent suppression that are affecting the bar. The accent is played when the bar is played in the arrangement, I just can't here it as a preview. I have this behaviour in Energy XT, FL Studio and Podium (the only DAW's I own). I am using JamStix 1.7.

Interesting. We had one other report of this behavior but could never duplicate it. Could you try the latest Jamstix Beta and see if it fixes this?

If not, could you send me a FXB file of your arrangement for duplication here? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Well, I finally figured out my problem. I needed to reset the measure in the arrangement. If I don't reset it, it plays programed rhythm for the measure only when I try to preview an accent. If I reset the measure, then go the the rhythm tab, I can preview accents.
The odd part is, when I reset the measure (the meaure in the Arrangement goes from a bright pink to a dull red), then go to the Rhythm tab, preview accents and choose one I like, the dash indicating the accent appears for the measure. But when the arrangement is played, and passes this measure, the measure remains a dull red color, but the accent plays appropriately. And, after passing the measure on playback, if I try to lock the measure, I get the message the bar must be played at least once before you can lock it. This behaviour occurs for me in 1.71 and the most recent beta.
Bottom line; the Arrangement function does what I need it to do as long as I reset the measure prior to going to the rhythmn tab and previewing accents. I have saved the song in the DAW, reloaded, and the accent I choose is still in the arrangement (but the measure is still dull red) so, outside of not being able to lock the measure, this method of working is functional for me.
I will for go sending you the fxb as it loads without decisions and accents. |

| I needed to set the Transport to Pause Play. This seems to have solved by problems. When I do this, I can preiview accents and save the measure. This is more than likely in the manual and I just missed it. Sorry to waste your time. |

You didn't waste my time at all since this is not in the manual and so will be helpful to others as well.
I can confirm your findings. If accent previewing doesn't work, set JS transport to stop and it will work. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
