| I tried this for the first time today and I couldnt get it to save. From the rhythm tab, after I've tweaked the drum to my liking, I try to save it, and I kept getting this dialog box that looked like the preview rhythm dialog, and it had spaces to enter keywords that related to your rhythm, but it was weird, it kept telling me that rhythm already exists no matter what name or names I put in. How do you save and load user defined rhythms? |

Jamstix tries to avoid duplication of rhythms in the library under different names. When Jamstix tells you the rhythm already exists, it tells you the name of that other rhythm. You can now just use that rhythm instead of saving your own, which is identical.
If you do wish to save your own, make a slight change, such as setting a snare hit to velocity 126 instead of 127 and you can then save since the rhythm is now technically different. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ok, heres the situation....
I load Rock Basic II. I like it for the first part of the song, but somewhere in the middle I want the snare to hit on 3 instead of 2. Whats the easiest way to go about this? SHould I load Rock Basic II twice, having one on its very own row, and alter each as I like? |

Go to an unused rhythm and access the rhythm tab on it. Click PASTE and select the 'Rock Basic II' rhythm and Ok it. You now have a copy of that rhythm in your current slot. Now alter the snare as needed. Finally, go to the arranger and select the new rhythm for the bars of the middle part.
Remember that rhythms and arrangement all save into your host project so there is no need to save the rhythms separately in the rhythm tab. That's only needed if you want to save a rhythm for use in other songs. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Ok thanks, thats all fine now. But another bump in the road has come, I'm trying to reset a bar that has a fill in it. I do that while the song is stopped, and it dissappears. But when I play the song again, the fill plays in the same spot again. |

Set 'Fill Frequency' to zero in the jam tab to keep Jamstix from forcing fills on you. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Ok, i knew about that, but this is getting confusing. For this project, I like jamstix adding a good amount of fills, so I have the slider about a 1/4 of the way up for snare and toms. But just this one particular bar I need there to be no fill......how would I tackle that? |

Download and unzip into your 'accents' folder. This will give you a new fill called 'Empty Fill'. Simply assignt that fill to the bar in question in the arranger by right-clicking on the bar and selecting the fill.
Now Jamstix will be satisified since it is a fill but you won't mind because it produces no additional sounds. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
