Hi all, just a quick solution for some people...

I've found a quick way of saving memory space and doing fine edits of a Jamstix arrangement.

It involves getting a midi track out of Jamstix first.

If you want to record your jamstix arrangement to midi in Tracktion then here's what I did.

I installed Midi Yoke which gives you multiple in and out ports.

Once my arrangement is made I set the track I want to record the midi onto to use a Midi Yoke Port and arm it ready for recording. (Tracktion users will know how to do this...)

Then I set the Jamstix module track to go to the same Midi Yoke device.

Press record and wait a while - voila out comes the midi.
Copy it over to the jamstix plugin track and turn off the brain and there you have it.

I can now fine tune the track (dropping out parts etc) and could also use different drum engines such as battery ezdrummer or even SR202 without needing jamstix loaded into my arrangement - saving quite a bit of memory space I might add!

Hope this is of help to some people.

Kind regards, Spencer

Why not just select the track, click on "export" and then click on "create a midi file"?

I use Tracktion 2 and am interested in Jamstix. What should I know about this combination concerning midi?

Reading this topic, I get confused. Why would I want to use Midiyoke, really?

Select a track where? In Jamstix? Please explain. Thank you.

Select the track in Tracktion that Jamstix is connected to. Once the track is highlighted , click on export and away you go...

Oh I see. I thought you could do that within JS. You were talking within Tracktion. Thanks for your response. I know that the midi output of JS can be recorded in any Host, like cubase or ableton live. Thats how I do it. Only thing is that ableton doesnt record the complete correct midi output sometimes.

What about the "export midi file" on the arrangement tab?
