Hi all,

I'm new here and let me first congratulate the author on a promising product.

My question: are there any Jazz swing grooves included or does one have to create them in the complete version? Examples: grooves that support the Be-Bop and Big Band periods.

TIA

Hi Alan,
Jamstix is mainly a rock/funk drummer and its rhythm engine and library are designed for that use. You can make Jamstix swing with the right kit and some manual labor in the rhythm editor but it's not what Jamstix was designed for.

Future versions of Jamstix may change that.

Zauni,

thanks for the prompt reply. Keep me informed as to when Jamstix will implement some Jazz grooves as requested and I'll make my purchase then..

TIA

Ralph,

I'm sure you'd like to make a bit more money with your product. Consider adding a sizzle cymbal to the arsenal with some 4/4 swing grooves. The Jazz virtual community will bite on your bait here rather than waiting in the wings with their hands in their pockets.

Believe me!

I sure like sizzle cymbals myself Smile
Could you send me some MP3's or MIDI files of the kind of swing grooves you have in mind to support@rayzoon.com ?

Sounds great but this play style is not what Jamstix 1 is designed to do.
We have such plans for Version 2, though.

We may be able to have a mid-life upgrade for Jamstix 1 with a jazz kit (brushes+sizzle cymbal) and controls for the brushed snare, some jazzy rhythms and some jazzy fills/accents but that would be around October this year.

Ralph,

The term "Jam" goes back a long way but it does precede Rock and Roll and todays music. "Stix" speaks for iteself. I hope to see you implement what I sent you in that mp3 in version 2.0.

BTW, glad to do a demo for you as a Jazz trio when the Jazz grooves and sizzles take birth in your product.

BTW, did you visit my official Website below?

Happy to assist..

Congratulations for very needed product!
I´m almost sure you or someonelse in the team are drummer by default Cool ,so pardon me if i´m saying something you know better than me,but,..I suppose if you can take a look at the old "Jammer hit songmaker" you´ll have a simple and effective guide for that,if you can make it with dinamics accents would be perfect.

Hi Wester,
I am the drummer on this project and I do have concepts for a jazzy Jamstix. Naturally, I do like to get input from users as to where we are taking things, so many thanks for your suggestion!

I can't believe "The drummer" has not been mentioned before.

Ralph, it was the drumming style that sold me the program initially, the fills, and the feel overall, I cant find words to descibe the little nuences that make Jamstix a joy to use.

How are you coping with all the praise?

Regards

I'd very much like to see jazzy, soul, trip-hop grooves implemented, plus more complexity for the percussion instruments section.

My guess is that your potential market for these three style categories would dwarf the that for rock users.

Also, would be nice to be able to replace the sample sets in the internal drum machine with one's own hits (or maybe this is possible?)

great stuff so far though.
