|
|
I always end up getting new software to help me achieve a certain goal and then finding out I probably need to spend a LONG time studying it before I can even begin to get what I need. It's happened again.
I'm working on a song that needs a brushed kit, kicks on the ones and threes, pedal hats on the twos and fours, and the snare being brushed 16ths. I've managed this much just fine with DR-008 and one of its kits, but I had no idea how to handle fills and other human touches.
Enter Jamstix and the brush kit. But it doesn't have that beat (that I can find) and when I try to do it myself, it sounds awful; the snare sounds like a machine gun. Is this a limitation of the kit, or do I need to alter some of the many knobs and sliders to get it to sound right? Should I pull in DR-008 to use its brush kit?
Any advice would be appreciated. |

Select KEYWORD JAM, then in the Rhythm Tab load the Keyword TRAIN BEAT, and from the options try BP UNIVERSAL FASTENER. It has the Kick on 1,2,3,4 but you can adjust it to your liking then.
Should be roughly what you´re looking for.
If you want to use this altered rhythm any further, make sure to save it under a different name.
P.S: The Accentuation slider in Jam tab should be way left for this purpose to achieve best results. |
