|
|
I've been having troubles with downloads quitting early. The odd part is that there is no complaint on the browser end, I just end up with broken ZIP or EXE files. It took about 3 downloads of the main drum kit download to get it right and I've just tried twice (unsuccessfully) to download drumpak #2.
The smaller downloads tend to work fine, but ones over 200MB seem to stop and just under 200 for some reason. I've tried in two locations (home and at work) with Firefox 2 and 1.5, respectively. Maybe I'll try IE... |

| Nope. IE stops even earlier (136MB) and also doesn't bother to let me know it's an incomplete file, even though it (like Firefox) specifically states that it's expecting to download a 264MB file! |

Could you e-mail me your account name (order name)? I'd like to make a change to your download scripts and then have you try a big download with IE again. There have been a few other users with this issue and we'd like to nail it down. Since we can't duplicate it here we need testing by an affected user so your help would be greatly appreciated! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Done. I think. I don't know what an account/order name is. I guessed that it was my real name, the one I ordered under. I'd be happy to help you track this problem down. I'm a web developer, so I know how frustrating such things can be. |

I'm not sure if Ralph is planning on posting any further details here, but in case anyone else is wondering what's going on I did some further testing and so far what I've seen has worked very well.
Nice, fast support! |

Yes, we've fixed a potential for timeout problems in the download scripts and pough was kind enough to test various download scenarios. Thanks, Pough! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| I'm having troubles getting full downloads as well. I'll try again, but I've tried three times and no luck so far on Drum Pak 2. |

Well, last night I was finally able to get the whole Drum Pak 2. This was before your post right above this post. I had to use Leechget, as I didn't know if it was Firefox or not. Leechget got it on the first time. The "Download Them All" extension for Firefox also never worked. So I tried several methods, and it would end early the whole time, except for with Leechget.
I will try again to a different directory as you have requested. I will let you know if I can get the whole file or not.
Sorry for trying so many times. I was determined!

Ok, I tried again with just the Firefox download, no frills. It worked great. First time trying, it went all the way. And the connection was also a bit faster then yesterday for whatever reason.
So whatever you did APPEARS to have done the trick!
Thanks Ralph!
