|
|
Just a quick word on some problems you may be having getting started with Jamstix:
Jamstix is a VSTi with MIDI input AND audio input. That is quite unusual and not many hosts support it. This means that 'audio jamming' (live interaction with Jamstix using the audio input) may not be possible with your host. So far we have only been able to do it with Sonar and Tracktion. It's all about being able to route audio to Jamstix. Newer versions of some hosts may offer this capability, so let's all share our experiences.
Jamming with MIDI is much easier since the audio input of Jamstix is not used. This should work in literally any host that can load Jamstix.
Also, Jamstix goes beyond jamming with its arrangement capabilities where you can quickly assemble tracks using the library rhythms, intros, fills and endings.
We will publish step-by-step instructions for several hosts over the next few days. You can also check the host-specific threads for this info.
Thanks and keep on jamming! _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Yes whats about defining the Audio-Input ? I tried in Samplitude - and the Jamstix is drumming - but it sounds like random drumming - NO changes according to my Audio input. where can i tell Jamstix which track it has to monitor ? would be great to even use one of "pre"-recordes tracks...lets say Track 5 (recorded bassdrum of an old recording) or Track 8 (bass-guitar...) or Inputs of Multi-Input-Soundcards.... |

Hi, I am not too familiar with Samplitude, hopefully Sekim can share his results with us.
Generally speaking, you have to find out how your host routes audio to and from a VSTi. This is not Jamstix-specific nor does Jamstix know anything about the host other than what the VST interface allows. Therefore, you cannot tell Jamstix to monitor a certain Samplitude track, instead you must instruct Samplitude what audio to route to Jamstix. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Elabouration-this works with an Audio Track insert playing back a previously recorded synth part, and also playing a synth real time with midi controller. With the latter, the drum part sounds a bit random, but I get more of a groove switching to Jam With Midi.
If I try and follow the 'Jam' video,I get ........The Parameter is Incorrect.....Canvas does not allow......access violation at address BFF6BB07 in module KERNEL32.DLL Write of address 009E608.......then Orion Plat.causing an error in JAMSTIX.DLL |

Could you outline the steps you are taking until the error occurs so we can try to reproduce this?
