I use Sonar 5, and it works great with JamStix.... given upgrade pricing, I'd spring for Sonar 6 if I were you. There have been lots of improvements since 3 (and I've been a Cakewalk person since Pro Audio days, so it's a semi-informed comment Smile
Good luck! John

Works great here in Samplitude. Live and MIDI-triggered both work well.

The new hyrbrid engine in 9.0 enables real-time effect fades like ambient and reverb.

It's also stable and great for triggering external drum samples such as dfhSuperior.

Good luck,

Greg

I don´t really think there´s a "best host" for Jamstix. If you like to produce your music in a Sonar environment, go for it and upgrade to Sonar 6 which has (finally) better VST capabilities now.

Me personally I have been a Cubase guy for a very long time, but nowadays I think that Ableton Live 6 is a serious contender when it comes to do more with your audio material (the audio engine of Live is phenomenal). Midiwise Live 6 is still lacking a bit.

Other people here report only good things about tracktion, which is a serious and affordable sequencer that gets the job done as well.

And let´s not forget reaper.

Freedom of choice nowadays really. Gone are the "Cubase or Logic" - days, and that´s a good thing. Smile
