|
|
I've heard a lot of good things about Jamstix so I've downloaded and installed the demo. I'm attempting to test it with recording using Cubase SX3. I have been unsuccesful so far, in fact I can only start the "Free Jam" once, if I stop it, it won't start again unless I close the project and re-load it.
Can you point me in the right direction? I must be doing something wrong.
Thanks! |

That's very odd. Let's do a simple step-by-step:
- new SX project
- load Jamstix into instrument rack
- make sure the checkbox in the 'Jam Start/Stop' section of the jam tab is NOT checked (for now)
- click 'Free Jam' button
- start Cubase
After a few beats, Jamstix will start playing a groove and you can change sliders and boxes in the jam tab to change the groove.
Tell me if you have trouble with this. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Very strange.
Do the bar/beat counters in Jamstix advance as Cubase plays? Also, is there a blinking LED in the bottom of the Jamstix interface? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

No, the bar/beath counters do not advance. No blinking LED unless I check Jam Start/Stop check box.
I have found that I'm able to get sound if add a MIDI track, then add the Jamstix VST instrument. But only if the Jam Start/Stop is checked. Once again if I stop the play in the Cubase transport and start it again, there is no sound(bars/beats advance however) unless I close the project and re-open it. Quite odd. I've had Cubase for some time so I'm a little experienced with it. I've had no other issues with other VST's I have in my toolbox. |

"Turn on DEP for essential Windows programs and services only" was already selected on my system. Has anyone reported issues after updating to IE7? I just did that a few days ago, before I attempted to use the Jamstix demo. Everything else on my system seems OK.
Thanks again! |

We've never heard of this problem so it is very strange indeed. I'm going to send you a newer Jamstix demo DLL to your e-mail to see if that helps. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

The new .dll you sent me seems to have fixed it! Thanks!
I still have a question regarding the "recording" of the drums to a MIDI track. I hit the record button and it appears to start recording but when I click stop, the track resets back to empty. Is this due to the demo version?
Thanks for the quick support... |

The MIDI output of the demo version is limited to bars 1 through 4 so if you take a MIDI track with input=Jamstix, you should see data on bars 1 through 4 but not beyond that. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

OK - I can record the first four bars now as you indicated. My main problem was that I didn't set the input=jamstix, duh!
I'm going to play with it for a few days and then decide if I want to buy it.
Thanks again for your outstanding support! |

Don't wait too long though because the deal is only until 12/31/06 which is in two days.
