| i'm having a problem in the arrangement tab. i tried right clicking on the name of the jam to load a new one while the jam was jamming, and its saying to stop the host or jamstix first....ok, so then i stop them both, and i try again, but it still gives me the same message. this has happened more than once, and i have to shut reaper down and reopen it again for it to work. Very frustrating. |

If you want to remove a fill, in the Arrangement tab right click the yellow box. You'll then see a dialogue box that you can use to reset the bar, choose a different fill, etc..).

hey cool, thanks. I never even seen the reset button.
Another thing i just noticed though was that some of the rhythms have a dot in the middle of the pink bar, and some dont. do those dots have any meaning? |

According to the Jamstix manual "A horizontal line in a bar indicates that a snare or tom accent has been played on it."

Oh, thanks AlanB. I must've missed that part in the manual.
And yes, in case you were wondering, I have thought of another question about the arrangement tab, lol....
Is there a way to globally reset all the fills in the arrangement at the same time back to a rhythm? B/c right-clicking each fill and hitting reset takes forever. |

Click 'Clear All' and UNcheck everything except the clear fills option. This will only remove fills. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ok, I'm sorry, cuz I know I just read somewhere in this forum the question i'm about to ask....
When trying to preview a rhythm in the arrangement tab, an error message comes up that says "List index out of bounds (-1)" and no matter what rhythm i try to preview, the same rhythm plays. I dunno what the problem is with that......thanks in advance! |

Make sure 'Input Monitoring' is on in REAPER.
Are you talking about rhythms or fills? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Next arrangement tab question is...
while adding fills somewhat near the midway point of a project, I like to stay in jamstix UI for editing them, and playing them back to hear the result. without closing jamstix and setting a start point to play from, is there a way to tell jamstix what bar to start playing from, so that I dont have to keep switching back and forth from jamstix to host, and host to jamstix? |

Not sure I fully understand. When choosing rhythms, I usually use the preview function in JS. Maybe you should try looping the host over the bar(s) in question? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

sorry, i know its a little confusing, and i'm sure theres an easy answer, but here...
for example, i'm in the arrangement tab and i want to make bar 37 a fill. I know how to preview it, but i want to hear how it sounds as its played in the song, but i dont want to hear the whole song from the beginning, just maybe a few bars back. when i hit play while still in jamstix, it automatically plays the song from the beginning. can i tell jamstix to start playing from say bar 34? |
