OK, you guys are way better than I am, but I'll risk posting My Krappy Song anyway, lol.
I would appreciate any feedback though...

Great song and a great production as well! Very crisp sound and you also clearly know how to use Jamstix _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Great! I like it very much!
Good low-end on the production side.
The Slide guitar sits in the mix very well.
Nice vocals and backing vocals, too (reminds me a bit of the Crash Test Dummies, oh well...)
Beautiful chord progression in the "middle eight" and a very nice return to the chorus afterwards. Sophisticated, quirky and very sexy all at once! Well done! |

Yes, this is very nice and a good demo for Jamstix. The drumming is very natural and tasteful, not busy at all. Nice song too. A little Beatlesque, a little like XTC, a little like ELO, but original too. Good work! The guitars are nice too. Is that an amp or a modeler? And what is the Hammond thing?
I must buy this Jamstix.
Thanks,
John |

I didn't use a guitar amp. The signal flow is as follows:
guitar > ChimpDual > RoomMachine844 (Practice Room preset, slightly tweaked) > Narrow bandpass filter centered at around 500Hz.
I had some problems with the lead guitar being either too harsh or too buried. Once I added the narrow bandpass filter, I was able to boost its level. It also changed the guitar tone a lot, but I liked it. Some people said they like it and some said they didn't. I thought it was a good compromise as the guitar was no longer causing problems in the mix.
The organ is a soft synth called AZR3. I like that plugin a lot. It is a free download here (you can even get the source code for it!):

I have used the Rumplerausch plug too. I also like NubiPlus, which is now also free. You can get it here:

It is a very authentic B3.
Thanks,
