New user here of about 36 hours. Having a ball with Jamstix - great program with a whole new inspiration factor.

I hopped on using RMIV and Stylus with Jamstix and they worked fine. The old Wizoo BitBeats LM4 kits sound outstanding using Jamstix to drive RMIV.

Then I got to thinking about the ton of drums I have in SampleTank and some of the expansion libraries. Gave it a try and it works great inside of Jamstix. Opens up yet another sound palette.

Here's my question. In SampleTank, drum kits are available with one of two mappings. The GM kits work fine as is. There is also an "I-Map" collection which has increased articulations and variety. Has anyone put together a Jamstix "I-Map" map?

Thanks

Dan

Well, I gave it a try myself and it was pretty easy. Not all the samples line up 100% since I-Map has some samples that Jamstix doesn't (like extra snare/tom/kick variations, rolls and left vs: right) and Jamstix has some categories that I-Map doesn't (like cowbell, shaker, etc.)

All and all however it lines up pretty good on the main items and sounds good to me. Certainly opens up an enormous amount of drum kits form SampleTank, SonikSynth and the Acoustic and Electric Drum Capsules.

When I get a moment I will put it up on my website and post a link here. In the mean time if you want it send me an email and I will send it to you. (This assumes that there isn't already a Jamstix share area that I don't know about.)

I guess Zauni can host your mappings on the main Jamstix's site: I saw other users' mappings there. In general I think it would be very useful for everybody to share mappings Smile

This will get better in Jamstix 2, which allows key mapping for left and right snare and toms.

If you send the RDM file to me (support[at]rayzoon.com) with your desired credit (name or alias) and any other info you think should be presented with it, I'll put it up in our 'Downloads' section.

Thanks!

Dan was kind enough to provide his I-Map mapping and it is now available in the Jamstix - Other Downloads section.

Thanks, Dan!
