I just finished installing jamstix after UNinstalling the demo. I inserted jamstix as a VST and it pops up, but still says DEMO. WHat have I done wrong?

I wonder if b/c I saved my license key to my desktop and not to the jamstix folder?

ANd I also noticed Jamstix Demo folder still on my comp.....shouldnt that be gone since I uninstalled it'?

I'll answer here instead of the mail I got from you:

Something's weird there as you shouldn't see the demo plugin if you uninstalled it. Let's verify this:

Find the 'jamstix demo' folder on your hard drive, open it in explorer so its contents are visible, take a screenshot and send it me. Now look for the folder 'jamstix' (the full version install) and do the same. Send both screenshots to support[at]rayzoon.com.

Looking at your screenshots the install looks great and I suggest the following course of action:

- delete the 'jamstix demo' folder
- rename the license text file in the 'jamstix' folder to 'jamstix_license'
- issue a plugin rescan in your host so it stops 'knowing' about the removed demo and finds the new full version Jamstix

After that Jamstix should be available in your host. Let me know how it goes.

Ok, I deleted the demo folder. I renamed the .txt file. But I do not know how to issue a plugin rescan on my host. I thought maybe just inserting the VSTi after deleting the demo folder would do it, but it did not work. The demo version still pops up. My host is the demo version of Multi Track Studio.

I'm not familiar with MTS so I'd recommend asking their tech support on how to issue a rescan of VSTi plugins.

When you say 'demo version pops up' you don't mean it actually opens, right? That would be impossible since it has been removed. You mean it is listed in MTS, right?

I know, it doesnt seem right, but, after i insert the VSTi, the option of 'audiom8' and 'jamstix demo' pops up. so i choose jamstix demo, and viola, the demo version pops up. I'll have to ask MTS about the issue as well.

This means you have the demo DLL laying around somewhere else. Please scan your drives for 'jamstix demo.dll', I bet it's somewhere in a MTS subfolder.

good call....

I found the demo.dll in the MTS 'VSTi Plugins' folder. Whats should I do? Delete that, and replace with new jamstix full version folders?

Delete the demo DLL and then just place a copy of 'jamstix.dll' from the 'jamstix folder' into the MTS 'VstiPlugins' folder and it should work just fine.

Here's what happens. MTS somehow finds the FXB files in the 'arrangement' subfolder of the Jamstix folder. It decides to load them into Jamstix for whatever reason Rolling Eyes and the first file is a BFD arrangement (using BFD from fxpansion) so that's why you are getting the message.

Only work-around I know is to delete all FXB files in the 'arrangement' subfolder.

There may be a switch in MTS to turn this annoyance off but I don't know MTS so I can't help on that.
