[b] Confused : O.k. Either I'm missing something obvious, or maybe you have to know the super secret password, but how in the $#**#! do you install the epaks? I can find nothing anywhere that explains this. Then again, maybe it's just my computer. I turned on the Data Executer thingie in WINDOWS XP. I extract the file to my desktop. When I attempt to open the RAR, whatever, I get this message:C:\Documents and Settingsd\Administrator\DesktopDrumpak[#2.rxp.The archive is either in an unknown format or damaged. When I try opening it with "jamstick" I get the same opening as above only this time with the dreaded additional comment, rxp is not a valid Win32 application. As you can probably tell by now, I am a piano player. I am over 40. I have, however, managed to install many things...other than this. Thanks for help from any quarter.[/i]

The instructions for Paks are on the download page as follows:

----
Download this file and unzip it into the 'addons' folder of your Jamstix directory. You should also keep a copy of the downloaded file somewhere else for backup purposes.

Simply run Jamstix and it will detect the ePak file in the 'addons' folder and install it automatically.
----

So, just place the RXP file in the 'addons' folder of the Jamstix folder and it will be installed during the next Jamstix launch.

Hope this helps and let me know if I can be of any other help.

I've done this with all the drumpaks, but how do I use these new sounds? How do I tell jamstix to use a brush hit on the snare, or some weird electronic cymbal, or whatever....?

Go to the mapping tab and click 'Load'. You will see mappings and filters for the individual Paks. Try out 'Brush Pak default' and 'ePak Urbanite' and so forth.

If you wish to change individual sounds of a mapping, select the sound in the sound list of the mapping tab and then open the 'Sample' list at the bottom to change it.

I hit load, but I dont see anything called brush pak or epak. In the filter box, it just says All, Jamstix, and Drumpak #1. I did save and unzip all the paks into the addon folder when I downloaded them. Maybe jamstix just isnt finding them?

Make sure the Pak files have the RXP extension (unzipped) and are directly in the addons folder, not some subfolder thereof.
