|
|
Hi, Ralph
Something strange happens when I use MIDI out when ´Time Sig Changes´ is not engaged, it sort of quantizes the output in 16ths, although the time variance remains. I´m using it in a song that does not use time signature changes. I have ´MIDI OUT only´ marked. Is this a bug?
And also, as I´m not using the internal JS sound engine, does it make any difference in terms of CPU usage enabling/disabling ´Time Sig Changes´? I can´t see any difference myself. I´m using 1.71 version.
Thanks. |

Disabling 'Time Sig Changes' helps with certain hosts when JS is used in a loop. It has no effect on CPU usage.
I'll look into the MIDI output... _________________ Ralph Zeuner

No problem, Ralph, at least the workaround doesn´t impact performance at all.
Thanks. |

Ops, I found another problem now, Ralph. There are many snare and tom accents that don´t play anymore, altough they are selected manually and appear marked in the arrangement tab. The accents have no restrictions in complextity and funkiness, and in some bars no accents play at all. They worked fine in previous JS versions, but I can´t recall which one I was using when it was working, as I use every new update available.
Also I find it strange that no matter I´m using MIDI-Out only, the ´sounds´options in the mappings tab still appear and they seem to be loading samples every time I change one of them,. |

Can you tell me an example accent and could you also send me a FXB with this problem to support[at]rayzoon.com? _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi, I also just looked at the MIDI output on 2 different host and get weird results (timestamps).

The Timestamp is the fifth column, using a buffer of 256 samples, and I see far too many zeros for the timestamp value. (tempo = 122).
Using keyword jam, 16th rock.
Checking timesig change doesn't change anything.
I tested in VSTHost and eXT, having identical results.
In Cubase all timestamps are set to zero, but this is due to the fact that Cubase 4 doesn't route VST-MIDI plugs correctly, and ends most of the time sending the MIDI from plug to plug at the beginning of the next buffer (holy crap).
Btw, how is Sonar 6 behaving in this situation, are the timestamp preserved ?

Hmm, I solved my problem, there were some ´accent supression´ values in some fills that were blocking accents next bars, but originally I haven´t put them as it worked before. Anyway it works now.
Mbncp, I´ve had some problems with MIDI out also, so I recommend subhosting always when possible. Sorry if I can´t help. |
