Hi All
I've just purchased Jamstix (although I'm still waiting for my authorisation codes etc before I can get started - I've been patiently waiting for about 16 hours and still no code ), and plan to use it to help me write some songs. I'm a guitarist, so not terribly confident with drums, so I'll probably be needing a lot of help
So, if you wanted to write a song from the drums up, how would you go about it? Would you start with Free Jam and then tinker with it in the arrangement part or something else?
Tips and tricks will be very gratefully received.
Thanks very much. |

Hi and welcome to the board!
If you´re absolutely clueless in the beginning, I´d recommend to start with freejam to get some grooves going. Later on you can swith to manual jam to tweak further.
If you already have an idea how the drums should go, I´d pick an appropriate rhythm from the library (they are very inspiring actually) and tweak it to my liking.
Again, later on you can tweak arrangements further in manual jam. |

clare, where is timmyo and I's plug for reccomending you this awesome program??
What I tend to do if it's a quick jam is just play in free jam. If it's for the CD, though, I'll use the patches already created and tweak them if needs be, as well as tweaking the sound of the original drums if needed. The patches are pretty good, you probably wont have to create your own! fast and easy, the way to go

Sorry about the delay with the order e-mails! We've had a site meltdown at the ISP yesterday and e-mail is still having some issues. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
