Hi,

I hope that someone can suggest me a work-around for this problem.

1) I have a song with a 11/4 time signature;
2) The work-around for jamstix with other hosts is to break down the rhythm (i.e. 4/4+4/4+3/4)
3) Ableton Live can handle clips with different time signatures but it is not possibile to automate the overall time signature (many Live users are complaining about this issue)

I tried to see if Jamstix can follow the time signature of the single clips but it seems it recognizes only the overall sig. Many live users overcome this problem setting the overall sig. at 1/1 but I think this won't work properly with Jamstix.

So...is there a way at all to overcome this problem?

Thanks:)

Jamstix needs the VST interface time sig to be updated correctly by Live throughput the song for time sig changes to work. I don't see a work-around for that.

I was prepared to get this answer Sad

It's so strange that Ableton guys do not try to incorporate this feature since so many users are begging for it.

Just another question. You say about Jamstix 2:
"Odd Time Signatures - we've got some good stuff coming in that arena"
Does it mean that J2 will natively support odd time sig, without needing to break down the bars?

Thank you and keep up your excellent work!

Yes, Jamstix will support any x/4 or x/8 time sig up to 13/8 (or 6/4).
But 11/4 is still not possible in JS2 as it is simply too large for the low level editor, which is 16th cell based and would need 44 cells for 11/4. Just in case you're wondering: the 16th cells support 32nd double strokes so JS2 will support 32nd notes in the LL editor.

We are thinking about adding forced time sig changes to JS2 that would allow parts to have their own time sig, which JS2 would use regardless of whether the host signals it at that time. This is not a confirmed feature at this time though.
