I have used Jamstix in Reaper.
I'm at work at the moment so can't tell you exactly how I set it up but I basically loaded it like any other VSTi and then assigned the outputs of JS to separate tracks in Reaper using the routing window in Reaper.
Jamstix doesn't affect my latency, but it is a bit CPU intensive...
Also you might want to make sure you have the Jamstix samples on your audio drive rather than your OS drive

i have JS inserted as fx in a track. i leave it in manual mode and program the beats myself for my songs. but sometimes i pull up a rhythm to just play along.
i have a duocore with 1gig ram, 1.83 ghz cpu, 7200 sata drive. i don't use a separate os drive.
i've never had this latency problem in other hosts. another thing that never happened is that when i want to preview a rhythm it asks me to hit play and stop on the host. |
