| Will it be possible in Jamstix2 to assign a midi controller (such as sustain pedal, mod wheel, or aftertouch) to trigger a fill when just jamming in Free Jam or Keyword Jam mode? |

I'll admit, I'm a late bloomer when it comes to Jamstix. I'm still learning the ins and outs of the program. Even though I caught onto Jamstix pretty late, I'm VERY pleased with the product. So much so, that from what I can see on JS2, I'm SOLD. I would pre-order JS2 tomorrow. I'd even like to get my grubby sh!thooks on a beta of it right now to do some testing with Sonar and BFD. (just thinking out loud here)
The biggest appeal of JS2 is the different drumming styles I'm hearing about. The potential there is amazing. The possibility to edit fills makes me totally drool as well! It would be so nice to have fills come in that represent the style of music you're playing. Most of the fills in JS are a bit too stiff to use without editing the midi data after the fact. So with JS2, I'm excited and ready to buy.
As for the website redesign, and repacking of the products, I'm all for it. I will be quite honest is saying that one of the big things that kept me from buying Jamstix was the product name. I know, it's a bad excuse to miss the bus. Jamstix to me does not represent what this product is, or what it means to producers, hobbysts, and artists. The name has a "cheap" connotation associated with it, especially with "sticks" being spelled as "stix". I'm sure Rayzoon considered a few product names before going in that direction, but in all honestly, that name subconsciously kept me at arm's length from the product. You'd be hard pressed to change the name at this point, especially when you're looking for carry over sales from owners of the first installment. A full product rebranding could be accomplished with a targeted marketing campaign!!
I just wanted to put that out there. How many other people hear the name "jamstix" and think it's anything more than freeware?
Don't get me wrong, I love the product, I love the support; and I'm still first in line for JS2 when it comes out!!! _________________ Metal Born Again:

I'm sure the name will have a different effect on different people. Like I said, it's a great product. I'm kicking myself for not jumping on it earlier. Had I seen a name like 'Ultra Percussionist', or "Digital Drummer", or 101 other names, I would have probably paid more attention the posts in the BFD forums from people raving about the product!! My own ignorance I suppose. _________________ Metal Born Again:

Here's a screenshot of the mixer in Jamstix 2. The main addition is the 3-band EQs on the channels but we've also spruced up the graphics and consolidated functions in a more logical way. The subhost function is now part of the mixer since JS2 can use a mix of internal and external sounds.
Also, note that channels and compressors now have separate on/off switches.
[NOTE: THIS IS WORK IN PROGRESS]

Ah OK - just seen the main site . . . not sure what I think about this (as an early-adopter) . . . obviously a good deal for newcomers, but, hmm, ok. |

As for the screen shot...very nice by the way...
Could I suggest different Font colors with that background. Something with more of a contrast to make it easier to read....
Just a my two cents....I'm sure you've spent a lot of time putting this together and making it look nice.
OOOOPS...I drooled on my keyboard!!!! I can hardly wait! _________________ Marcus2323

| I've been on the fence for ages, but I just literally 12 seconds ago bought Jamstix - because of the free upgrade to V2. It was a good idea. |
