Good morning from sunny Louisville: I've searched for a thread to find info using J with a biab song. Rockum on Aug. 14, 2005's thread best describes what I'm trying to do. I've loaded the midi file (multiple tracks) from biab into Tracktion2 and have added some audio ( guitars, vocal, bass) also. What is the best way to apply J to the song? Input only the drum midi track into J, input the audio tracks into J or route the entire song into J?Thanks David. ps The more I get my hands around Jamstix the more I am liking it. Now if I could only do the vulcan mind meld directly into it.

There are various ways of doing this:

a) use JS without input and simply select fitting rhythms manually or let JS free jam by itself

b) if you have a 'chorded' MIDI track from BIAB (i.e. piano) then feed that track into JS for a MIDI free jam.

Thanks for the prompt reply. My ignorance is going to show: in (a) how do I set up JS in T2 without there being input into JS? Do I drop JS into the master filter section so that all the musical info in T2 runs through it? I'm not sure how the configuration looks like with "use JS with no input".
Thanks again for the help. David

No input just means that JS runs by itself, no MIDI or audio data needs to be fed to it. You can then control velocity and other aspects of JS throughout the song manually using automation in T2.

Not to be pesky, but where do I put JS as a filter in T2? Do I set up a separate track for it with no audio and midi input and use free or the arranger? David
