I have an 8 bar verse all against the same pattern in the arranger, and I am looking for jamstix to do it's occaisional extra hits, etc. To do this I normally reset all the bars and ensure funkiness and complexity are set at around 25%ish and then let it play and if it puts a little extra snare beat or something in a bar that I like I lock that bar. I continue this until one or 2 of these extra events appear in a couple of bars and then lock all the bars.

However, when I did this yesterday, jamstix would not play anything different. I played it over about 5 times and then put the funkiness and complexity to 100% and after 3 times still nothing. Is there something I am missing here?

Thanks

Please save the state of JS at that time to a FXB file via 'Save Bank' in Cubase and send it to support[at]rayzoon.com referencing this thread so I can help you with this.

Please also send rzdlog.txt from the Jamstix folder.

Antony, I got your mail and checked your log and FXB. We may have a functional misunderstanding. Changing complexity and/or funkiness in manual jam mode will only affect fill and accent selection. Also, it will affect their selection but not the frequency thereof.

I am assuming that it is the accents that you are after. I recommend you set the snare accent slider in the rhythm tab of your active rhythm to 50% or more and let JS play. You should now hear the extra hits etc. Now go back and lock the bars with the accents you like. Repeat/rinse as needed and when you're done set the snare accent slider back to zero to kill all the accents you didn't want.

Ralph - many thanks. Sorry - my mistake - I forgot about the snare accent bar. I will give it a go.

Thanks again.
