|
|
I have latest jamstix (1.0.2) and Sonar3PE. I can't get the arranger to work when I try to define a fill/ending/intro. Basically Jamstix freezes and crashes Sonar.
I tried to follow the video tutorial almost exactly. I did the following:
1) Loaded 3 funky styles
2) spread out the styles in the arranger
3) Clicked on bar 1 ... and everything freezes
This is repeatable - although after killing Sonar about 10 times - I must admit I do get variations in how it crashes. Once I actually arrived at the Rhythm window and was lucky enough to select an "intro". Unfortunately, when I selected another bar in the Arranger window... another crash.
Also ... with my very very first attempt at all this - I first tried to spread out the styles I received the following violation:
Access violation at address 0ba798d9 in module jamstix.dll. Read of address 00000000
My setup is winXP with all latest updates, 1GBram, 3Ghz machine.
Help.

Are you using the Cakewalk VST adapter?
If so, try DirectiXer instead or wait until later today when I will upload a fix that has helped other users with CW VST problems. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I am using the Cakewalk VST adapter.
I am patient, and I'll wait. I'm having trouble justifying the $50 fee for Directixer.
Thanks

Well, DirectiXer does have the loopback port which allows you to feed Jamstix MIDI-Out back into Sonar. I'm afraid even the $80 Tracktion has better MIDI routing capabilities than Sonar...
By the way, I love Sonar and it is my main host but the VST adapter is just a joke IMHO. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

You recommended Directixer to me in a previous post. If you developed Jamstix with that particular configuration, and it will avoid further snafoos, and it gives more capability - then maybe I should spring for it.
Of course ... you are sure that the problem is the adapter??

The main reason I recommend DirectiXer is the loopback port. CW VST doesn't have that at all.
Try the official 1.02 later today and see if it fixes your Jamstix/CW VST freezes. Then you can go from there. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I appears to be working. I downloaded V1.0.2E - and it looks good. Actually ... it is amazing.
Thanks very much.

Just an fyi about waiting for cake to implement a loopback driver like DirectXer has always had...
I have been waiting for cakes adapter and before that, FXpansion's adapter to do what DirectXer can do now, for "years" now and it has not happened... I would not wait if i were you... Get DirectXer for the midi out for special vsts like jamstix and Groove Agent, cause i doubt if cake will ever implement it... |

Yep..........
BUT as pointed out earlier........tracktion is super duper EXTRA super at working with grooveagent/jamstix. It's really hard right now because mackie (YUCK!) is really jerking T2 people around........so you'd have to buy T1 and then update IF it ever becomes possible. T1 is a great host (pre-mackie)
PS, please don't let some terrible corporate company take this product over and then ruin updates/support/customer base........ |
