Is is possible to add automation to tell JS to play soft/simple in certain parts of a track and aggressive/cpmplex in other parts?

Yes, you can draw a velocity envelope in your host for loud/soft playing and another envelope for power play.

in sonar HS XL i guess youd have to draw that in the velocity part of the piano roll?

i can find an option to create the envelopes you describe in the track view = panning and volume and send envelopes as normal but no other option. Not on the jamstix host track or the accompanying MIDI track.

In Sonar 4 it is Envelopes -> Create Track Envelope -> MIDI ->Type=NRPN
