It's been a couple of months since I used Jamstix in Ableton Live. (I have version 5.2).

I want to set it up for audio jamming, but I can't get it to work! The embarassing thing is I was able to set it up in the past, but I've forgotten how. I'm probably missing out a simple step somewhere.

Can someone point me to a set of steps needed to get this working, please?

Many thanks,

Ron

OK here we go:

1. Basics: Make sure you´ve selected the Toneport ASIO driver. I recommend you download the new version of Gearbox from Line 6 as it has greatly improved driver-wise and a bit features- wise.

2. Create an Audio track for your guitar or audio signal you want to use to drive Jamstix with. Let´s call this one Guitar Track.
3. Insert Audio m8 to this track.
4. Set up a Midi track.
5. Insert Jamstix to this Midi track. We call this one Jamstix.
6. Create another audio track. We call it Jamstix Audio.
OK?

Now routing goes like this:
Guitar track: AUDIO FROM ext. in, MONITOR Auto, AUDIO TO Jamstix.
Jamstix: MIDI FROM all ins, MONITOR Auto, AUDIO TO Master.
Jamstix Audio: AUDIO FROM Jamstix, MONITOR In ,AUDIO TO Master.

Should work as expected now.

You may also want to look HERE http://www.rayzoon.com/jamstix_dlds.html to find some templates I made for the use of JS with Live 5.

Thanks Doc, it now works great!

You've helped me before, and I really appreciate it.
