|

Today I discovered that trying to set a certain velocity for a note within a rhythm is actually quite hard in Jamstix 1.x, e.g. setting a softer or loader hit for a note. Though it is easy to drag the velocity with your mouse, it is actually quite hard to see what level the velocity is of the note you are editing: the color gradient goes from dark green to light green. Particular if you want to set a several notes with more a less similar velocity.
My eyes are quite good, but it is still hard to guess what a particular velocity is. And some people's eyes are less color sensitive. Are there any plans to improve this in Jamstix 2? Did I see that there will be a full midi editing window?
An intermediate solution could be to increase the color gradient: for instance going from dark blue to light red. At least you know that when it switches from blue to red you know that you are half way.
EDIT: Sorry, wrong thread, should be under Jamstix 2...

When you drag the mouse to adjust velocity, look at the status bar of Jamstix at the bottom. It will show the numeric velocity. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| Ah, silly me, sometimes I do forget the status bar showing very useful info. Sorry about that. |
