i want a 16th note hi hat midi pattern with specific accents like this:

XxxX xxXx xXxX XxXx

does JS vary the velocity while maintaining the accents? IOW, is the velocity varied so that the proportional relationship between 16ths is kept?

You can't do this specific pattern in Jamstix at this time. The closest you can do is Xxxx xxXx xxxx XxXx. That is because you can set the velocity of quarter and eighths individually but not of the 16ths in between.

Jamstix 2 will have a nifty low-level editor where you can get the pattern you want.
