After a couple of hours of working with this it fainally crashed. Same thing but the asio drivers seemed to help significantly.

I will be gone for a week, but if there is anything else you would like me to try let me know and I will get to it when I get back.

I can't seem to get this to work at all. It just doesn't seem be getting any midi data in this way. Jam w/audio works alright, but Midi doesn't seem to function properly. I have things set up as per in the manual, but it's not working. Oh, and I have the full version of Jamstix, and enable end-to-end is turned on. Any ideas?

Here's a screenshot:
http://www.rayzoon.com/track3.jpg

All I do is align the MIDI-in with the track, load Jamstix (I don't even touch a button in Jamstix) and hit a key on the keyboard. As you can see the yellow MIDI-in LED is lit and the velocity slider has moved.

End-to-end on MIDI must be on but you said you did that.

What if I want to have Jamstix respond to me playing a VSTi synth via Jam with Midi. How would I set that up? I guess that's what I'm confused on.

In this case simply put Jamstix to the track that plays the synth. End-to-End should be disabled then.

Can someone possible post what it would look like in this situation? I know this should be really simple, but I'm having a hard time wraping my brain around it. I know that jam with audio works fine, and I'm just trying to figure out how and why to use jam with midi.

Basicly, I want to know how you can set up a freejam with a VSTi synth like Synth1, etc, with Jam With Midi.

Does anyone know how to mixdown or render your Jamstix output to a wav file in Tracktion without including the audio wav you are using to trigger Jamstix?

When I try to render the track I have Jamstix on Tracktion says "there aren't any clips in those tracks to render"

Also I can't work out how to use the multiple Jamstix outputs in Tracktion...
Tracktion only shows a left a right out I can't seem to see or hear anything touted to outputs 2, 3 or 4 in Jamstix...

thanks,
Rich

I´m not an expert in tracktion because I mainly use Cubase SX3, but I believe you have to build a rack with Jamstix as a filter in it. Then you should see all outputs you have specified within Jamstix and route them.

Well I have a rack that allows me to route the 4 outputs from Jamstix to 4 separate tracks in Tracktion but I can't work out how to render each track as a separate av without including everything...

Maybe you should only put the AudioM8 to the track with the audio and set up Jamstix in another empty track.

So does no one record the audio output of Jamstix with Tracktion?
Is everyone just exporting the midi output of it?

We just found a bug in Jamstix when used with Tracktion: Tracktion creates the GUI before the resume command. Since the latter causes Jamstix to load its sample list, the sample select box in the GUI is empty (except for 'No Sound') as if gets filled during GUI load. This will be fixed in the next update.
