|
|
Ok, i made an earlier post a few days ago regarding cells having exclusive patterns. I know i can right click on a cell and select intro, fill or ending for that specific cell. This is fine but sometimes i just want some minor tweaks.
FOr this reason, it would make things more versatile if I could double click a cell to send to the rhythm section, make whatever fine tunings i want and have the option to have these changes either 1] affect all cells or 2] just that cell exclusively.
I did do a brief search to see if this has been mentioned as a FR or if it is already implemented but didn't find anything.
I hope others can use this feature as well. |

Cells in the same horizontal row are using one rhythm slot so any change must affect all of them. The way to do what you need is to pick an unused rhythm, click the cell to it for the desired bar and then use 'Paste' in the rhythm tab to copy in the original rhythm and then change it as needed.
We will make this easier in Jamstix 2. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Awesome!
Also, if i may add, would it be possible to add a "paintbrush tool" feature
where one can add cells by dragging horizontally as opposed to clicking each cell one by one? Maybe hold left mouse button while dragging across?
Same effect can be appplied for deleting. |

Jamstix 2 will have a different arranger that is more structure-oriented and requires far less 'painting'. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Could someone please explain how to use the 2 and 4 bar patterns in the arrangement section. I notice it creates either 2 or 4 bar sections in the arangement grid. Why and for what reason would I use this new feature?
Thanks... |

Example:
Load rhythms 'Grey One' and 'Grey Two' in slots 0 and 1. These two rhythms are meant to be played in sequence, forming a 2-bar pattern. Now move JS to bar 1, right-click on 'Grey One' and select 'Create 2-Bar Pattern'. Jamstix now alternates the two rhythms so that you do not have to manually 'click' the pattern together. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Ralph
I know you replied to the question that was asked in this post regarding a 'paintbrush' feature by saying it will be eaiser in JS2 (cool)
But that is so freaky as this is sometihing I've wanted to mention many times but have never got around to it...
sometimes you want to insert 5...10... (more) of the same pattern in the arranger on the same line... (and I know there is a complex copy and paste function to do this) but it seems so natrual to want to just 'brush' the mouse along where you want the pattern to be replicated... so quick and really a 'pre windows 95' technology.

SOrry, I'm not able to fllow this. I'm not even able to find out where I can load 2 rhythms into different slots (actually, I don't even know what is a slot to begin with).
PS: This is my first post in Rayzoon forum. |

No problem.
Jamstix has 16 rhythm slots (or just rhythms), which are listed vertically in the arranger. You can load rhythms into them by right-clicking on the rhythm name in the arranger. Alternatively, you can us the rhythm tab to edit (or reload) the current rhythm. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
