Hi there,
When jamming, Jamstix switches between a more relaxed type of playing to a more aggresive type of playing around a velocity level of 70%. Among the things that change is the sidestick into the snare and the beat style.
Personally I think the velocity switch is too high, or in other words the bandwidth of louder play is too narrow in comparison to the softer play. The snare is too quickly switched to the sidestick, and the snare comes in at a loud level.
I think in general the snare might be used more often, also at quieter volumes with a 'moderate/basic' beat and a softer snare. Maybe a switch around 40-50% would be more natural, e.g. the snare is the basic instrument with a moderate type of playing and sometimes there is a fallback to the sidestick with a soft playing style.
What do you think?
R, Lucky

The next beta will allow you to customize the velocity threshold of the snare heads/sidestick switch in the ini files. It will also allow you to customize the thresholds of the reduction levels. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
