Hi Ralph,
thanks for the output lock ini parameter !
Not even talking about the other cool stuff, haven't had the time to test drive yet.
2 questions, if you don't mind :
- am I right thinking the anti-machinegun thing is a BFD feature as opposed to a JS feature ? Just curious.
- you offer an ini option for shuffling of accents and fills.
How would a real drummer act ? Is this song-specific, genre-specific, dependent on personal style or alcohol level ?
I'm only a guitar player, what do I know ...
Cheers, Rhino |

Yes, it is a BFD feature.

The ShuffleAccent option is no longer active. I'll make sure it gets removed from the manual in the next update. This option was only useful when we had some issues with the shuffler on accents which is no longer the case. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| I love the keyboard jam in the new beta... very nice and powerful upgrade. Opens up all kinds of possiblilities for controlling jamstix. one question.... I am loving the mod wheel ( CC1) as a way to control velocity but I also love how CC 50,51 can control funkiness and complexity in the free jam mode. Any chance I can use 50 and 51 in keyboard jam as well. That way I would have control over velocity, funkiness and complexity on the fly in keyboard jam. |

The 50 and 51 controllers affect the free jam rhythm generator, which is not in use during keyboard jam. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

cool to see a Beta update with some new features! Very nice. You guys are definately going in the right direction... keyboard and midi controlling gives us more control!
ONE THING... I was very excited, intrigued and curious about the 'Drive and Layed back' feature that was in the beta features list.
But I could not find this option anywhere on the new interface... nor could I find it in the accompanying manual.
Ralph... where exactly should I be looking to find the 'Drive and Layed back' features ??

It's not in the interface, it's a new VST automation parameter.
This is just a way to get drive (early play) into Jamstix 1.x as a free update. Jamstix 2 will have GUI controls for this. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

I understand what you are saying.
but I still have a question:
Can I use it in any way now? Or will I have to wait for JS2 to be able to use it.
If I can utilize it now (or test it) how do I do it?
Thanks

It's a VST automation parameter. Please refer to your host documentation on how it handles automation envelopes and then select the one for 'Drive/Laid-Back Timing'. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

OK Ralph
I will take a look at that.
Does this mean that in JS2 we willl have twaekable 'front-panel' controls for this on the interface? And we'll be able to control it with a midi controller?

Yes, and yes, most control elements (knobs, sliders and checkboxes) will be CC-assignable in Jamstix 2. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Hi,
using Jamstix into a vsti host plugin like Chainer, you can assign midi controllers (editor 2, then "Learn" or "Controller")

Looks like there's been some great stuff cooking in the Rayzoon kitchen - lots of goodies in the new beta.
I've been trying to access the Drive/Laidback parameter in Cubase SX 3.1.1 and the list of automatable CCs which comes up in the Cubase Track parameters box is pretty generic.
Edit: OK - quick forum search turned up this:
| Quote: | (From Zauni)
When I add Jamstix to the synth rack in SX2 I get an entry under VST instruments in the same panel where your MIDI track is. That entry has the parameters. If I add a MIDI track like you did then I cannot see the parameters either. |
That explains what I was seeing in SX 3.1.1: only generic parameters in the midi track I routed to Jamstix. I get the full list if I use the track created by Cubase.
(Zauni - I am leaving this in in case it helps anyone else trying to get the new parameters happening. If you think it is better in Jamstix support be my guest.) |

I've tried this (In Cubase SX2) to find the VST automation for the "drive and laid back" settings. I can't find anyway to access or find it.
Maybe I'll just hang out for JS2.
Or maybe someone (kind) out there who has Cubase SX and understands how to access this function with VST automation could explain it for me?
Ralph... I have a bunch of refinements and ideas to mention that may already be planned for JS2...
I'll drop a post soon to let you nkow of my ideas.

Click on 'Velocity' and then select the automation parameter in the dialog. Here's a screenshot: _________________ Ralph Zeuner
