|
|
i have just installed jamstix demo on my new pc, tried it for some time and was trying to figure the following:
is jamstix "synchronized" with the bars of the host sequencer??
i'm using sonar 4 and i noticed that, if i start the song from bar1, jamstix arranger is correctly starting from bar 1.
but as soon as i start from bar n (n>1) or do a loop of several in sonar4, jamsiitx arranger is simply ignoring what's happening in sonar!
so while i start the playback from bar 10, jamstix still begin at bar 1, and if i loop bar 4-8, after the loop jamstix is continuing to bar 9,10, etc
i noticed a transport bar even in jamstix, so that, from jamstix, i suppose can start the playback from the bar i want, but what about looping and host sync?
is it correct that, every time, i have to manually tell jamstix from which bar to start? this is very time consuming and frustrating!
is this a problem only in sonar4 or is it common? _________________ listen to my music at

Yes, it's always synched with the host.

Starting normal play from any bar should work fine.
Looping in Sonar has a bug that prevents VSTi from seeing the loop reset to the start. This is a problem confirmed by Cakewalk. It works fine in other hosts.

No, the transport in JS is for offline editing (host stopped).

Starting non-looped play from any bar works fine for me in Sonar. We also haven't heard this issue raised by any other Sonar/JS user. Could you send me a screenshot of Jamstix in Sonar where you start Sonar playback at Bar 10 and Jamstix is at a different bar? The shot needs to show the Jamstix GUI bottom (bar counter) and the Sonar toolbars.
