hi!
i found jamstix when it was at version 1.2 (if i remember well) and was very tempted to buy it... but other problems arose and i didnt purchase..
my main problem is also that i use sonar 4, and have only the standard sonar vst adapter.
and i'd like to use jamstix with kontakt 2 and my own kits...

if i remember and read well, the only option to route jamstix midi out to another VSTi/DXi is to use DirectiXer 2.5, is it correct? there should be also the possibility to load kontakt2 inside jamstix, but this would not be a wise choice, since i would use a lot of resources just for the drum sound (and i often use kontakt 2 also for ohter sounds... so i'd have to load 2 instances of K2!)

is anything changed since version 1.2 or using DirectiXer 2.5 is the only way to have realtime midioutput to kontakt2? i remember that there is also a midi exoport feature, but i want to have the "correct" sounds in realtime and dont' use the export funciont, so i'd like to have jamstix to directly "play" kontakt 2!!!

now, with the summer jamstix sale, the offer is again tempting me... and i am in doubt either to buy or not to buy... Smile
i saw that DirectiXer 2.5 license is 44$... is there some "special offers" for jamstix users??

is it correct that sonar5 solves all these midi problems and has the capability to route midi out directly from jamstix to other VSTi??

if so, it would also not be so wise to buy a DirectiXer license for 44$, since the upgrade to sonar 5 would cost nearly twice (80€)... and of course has far more features... anyway, the jamstix purchase would mean other money that leave my pockets!! Very Happy

thanks for any help!

In Sonar 4 you still need to use DirectiXer to send the Jamstix MIDI output to Kontakt 2 in realtime. In Sonar 5.2, you no longer need DirectiXer as it (finally) supports MIDI output via the included adapter.

We used to sell DirectiXer bundled for $31 but we have stopped carrying it since Sonar 5.2 came out.

Don't rely on my advice but in your situation I'd likely choose the Sonar 5 upgrade. YMMV.
