| Hey guys, im trying to jam with jamstix demo in cubase le. i added the M8 to an insert effect on my track and put the jamstix demo as a vsti instrument and followed everythin note for note in the 'free jam quickstart gd. Now, when i start jamming jamstix doesnt sound in sync w/me. it sounds like it is playing some random beat. i told jamstix to 'jam w/audio & i chose 'free jam'. why isnt jamstix listening to what i am playing? do i have everything routed correctly?? and is there a 'step-by-step' tutorial describing how to do this in detail. the quik-start gd. is very vague & skips many details, such as; when you add the M8 to an insert how do you pull up jamstix w/o having to load it as a vsti or do you need to load it as a vsti??? any help would greatly be appreciated. I am happy to read owners manuals but they dont seem to tell you much if you are a newbie. nonetheless, just from what i heard last nt when jamstix played for me, the drum sounds sounded awesome & very real. Are the drum sounds in jamstix actual drums that were recorded?? Once again, the websited doesnt tell you this. Sorry for a barrage of questions i just cant seem to find any answers to these questions on the rayzoon website. thanx |

Jamstix is always in synch with Cubase so Cubase controls the tempo, not your playing. There is no way to extract reliable time info from an audio signal in real-time with current computers. Furthermore, VSTi plugins cannot force a tempo on the host only the other way around.

Yes, you always load Jamstix as a VSTi in the Cubase synth rack.

Yes, they are sampled drums.
The expansion Paks add even higher quality sounds than the stock sounds. Check out the 'FreePak' with your demo to get a taste of those sounds. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

Being somewhat of a newbie myself, I can maybe help a bit with that. What you may need to do is sync your audio with the Cubase tempo - CTRL T brings up the tempo track. If the audio is "freely-played" (i.e., not one consistent tempo), you'll need to map the Cubase tempo to your audio.
If you go to this site http://www.steinbergusers.com/cubase/cubase_vguides.php you can see a video on how to map your tempo to audio ... it's either the Timewarp one, or the audio warp (I can never keep them straight).
Once you have your audio and tempo track in sync (meaning that each beat and measure in your audio matches up with the Cubase beat and measure in the tempo track), JS sounds great!
Good luck - _________________ Alexis
