Hi everybody. I'll try to be brief. My songs generally consist of a rhythm guitar track, a vocal track, and some more guitar noodling. Although I have a cheap midi keyboard and some instrument packs, I haven't really developed that yet (can't play piano, to boot, which doesn't help).
Jamstix, as excellent as it is, seems to have trouble jamming with my audio. I've tried putting the audioM8 module just with the rhythm track, or with the rhythm + vocals, thinking that simplifying what jamstix hears might help, but the results are still a bit muddy. I understand that straight ahead audio, and maybe even especially guitar, can be difficult to process, and so my question is if anyone can recommend a way I can help the program along, perhaps by creating a bare-bones (trust me, it would have to be) MIDI track that follows my song, that I can have Jamstix "learn", or even jam to exclusively. Not sure what this track would consist of, or if this is even the best approach. Thanks.

From what you're attempting to do, I think Jamstix's arranger could be the best way to go in that Jamstix operates from a bare-bones, predefined structure.
