| IF you import a midi loop that is two measure long, each measure being different, does JS know to seperate the two or does it combine the two in one measure? |

It splits it across two rhythm slots. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

As a follow-up, I did play around more extensively with JS, specifically with freejam, importing grooves, and playing with included grooves.
All I have to say is that I'm very happy that I've purchased JS. I'm starting to understand the software and realize how much time it will save me to make my drums sound more human. And the support is second-to-none.
Thanks guys, please keep up the good work, and keep those updates coming

OK, wanted to clarify a couple of things.
1. I'm using C&V and have set it to default kit. As for output, I guess I need no more that 7 outputs. I have set the outputs under sounds to 7. Is 7 the max/min I need, or are there instances that I need to go higher? Is this number related to the number of drum instruments I have in my kit?
2. Under Sonar, I see the 7 output tracks (JS1-7) and main JS. However usualy only 3-4 of them are active under the JS1-7, and only 1 of them (usualy the 5th) will have the main drum sounds, the first 2-3 JS tracks will have smaller volume of beats. What do the these lower volume outputs represent?
3. I take it that if I want to save audio from JS, that I need to go to each output, click waveform preview and then this will save JS as audio under SOnar? Not sure why the R (record) button is not present under these tracks.
Sorry, I'm a bit confused on the above 3 points. Appreciate any help. |

Questions 1 and 2 are really not about Jamstix but C&V as it determines number and use of its audio outputs. Hopefully C&V users can help you here or at the toontrack forum.

In order to turn any VSTi audio output in Sonar into audio clips, you need to either bounce the JS track or freeze JS. Note that Sonar refuses to bounce or freeze tracks that it deems to be empty so you may need to add a dummy controller or note at the start and end of the JS track to get Sonar to do the job. _________________ Ralph Zeuner
