well, i was working on a project today, and had loaded jamstix, and i noticed that from time to time there were cpu overloads and the sound quit playing (and recording was interupted as well), although the cpu loads were displayed at 10-20%
after maximising the voice reduction slider and activating low memory, this problem was reduced, but not gone, so it's still pretty much unusable...
im using cubase sx 2 |

Please send me your rzdlog.txt file from the Jamstix folder to support[at]rayzoon.com. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| well, it didn't happen today, even at minimum voice reduction low memory turned off and x-samples turned on, so i suppose the current rdzlog.txt won't be of much use. i suppose it didn't happen today as I was recording or playing back audio files at the same time yesterday and not today, which would mean my hd is just too damn slow... |

The voice reduction will reduce CPU usage and spiking so I definitely recommend you leave it at the middle position for now.
'Low-Mem and 'X-Samples' do NOT affect CPU usage but memory usage so I recommend you leave low mem off and x-samples on unless you are running out of RAM.
If you encounter the problem again, please immediately send me the rzdlog.txt file. _________________ Ralph Zeuner

| file sent. i encountered dropouts again today, the average cpu load was much higher though, so i'm not sure if it's the same problem. |

well... i didn't encounter any dropouts for a whole while, but all of the sudden now whenever jamstix is loaded (and as soon as the samples are loaded) my daw switches between cpu overload and normal operation all the time! which makes jamstix unuseable for me... the only thing i remember having done before this problem began occuring was to set jamstix to 10 outputs (and restarting it to actually get the 10 outputs) and after closing that project opening another. i set it back to 4 outputs, but no difference... the rzdlogs don't look any different than they did before... |
